Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch

"Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch."

Democracy - more honestly called "mobocracy" – is a political system based upon the concept that the majority always rules...

...because they outnumber the minority, and can beat them up.

Never doubt this: "Democracy" is rooted in pure brute force:

Every "fundamentalist" blue law imposed on a minority with differing beliefs assumes that the unbelievers will be forced to obey.

Every majority election of a politician forces unwelcome "representation" upon someone whose views that politician diametrically opposes.

Democracy assumes that three illiterate morons are somehow wiser than one Einstein-level genius... Simply because there are more of them; they outnumber him, and can force their wills upon him.

Democracy says it is acceptable to take money or property from a nonconsenting individual because he is outnumbered, a minority.

Democracy in its purest form is best illustrated by the robbery of a helpless, little, old lady by a gang of thugs. It must be okay: The gang "majority" out-voted the woman.

Constitutional Republics were a good attempt, but I consider them a failed concept. People who have actual lives to live and bread to earn can never pay enough attention to government to compete with people who are being paid with their tax money to devote their FULL attention to finding ways to circumvent the controls we put on them.

Jefferson understood this, and proposed that the reset button would have to be hit every 20 years or so. Unfortunately, the first few groups who tried to push the reset button (and in some cases justifiably so) got their asses handed to them, and thus the government calcified until it became the abortion it is today.

Almost all government realize when they are formed that Democracy will end up becoming a tyranny of the majority with the majority forcing their will on the minority at gunpoint.

For this reason most government create Constitutions, Bills of Rights and other such limitations of the government that limit the power of government.

Of course as the person in the prior paragrahp said the people in the government will devote their FULL attention to finding ways to circumvent the controls we put on them.

Any Libertarian legal scholar will tell you that at the federal level 99 percent of the laws passed are unconstitutional.

What can the man on the street do about it?

Nothing unless you have millions of dollars you wish to spend on legal fees fighting the government which most people don't have.

And if you do have the money to fight the system, you have to remember the court system is PART of the government. And is often stacked to support the unconstitutional laws the government rulers pass.

After all the judges are usually appointed by the same people that pass the unconstitutional laws.
